Shadow Box

Well I was so inspired with the shadow boxes made on the prima site here….  So I wanted to make one.. Here are some of the pics of the shadow box I made –

What I did was binded an old novel from all sides with fevicol..  Then I created a box like effect by cutting a rectangle inside the novel and then painted the entire novel with white acrylic paint..Once that was done I decided on the pic and the thought of creating a background.. The bricks are actually pieces of cardboard painted red and the distressed with Tim Holtx  black ink.. Then created a sky like background using broken china ink.. And then decorated the box with some handmade flowers and swirls which were dies cuts from my sizzix dies.. Then I added the photograph, some mulberry roses and a sentiment for finishing touches.. The handmade flower are distressed using the colors like Worn Lipstick, Dusty Concord, Victorian Velvet, Spiced Marmalade and Mustard Seed ..

Here are some of the closeup shots of my handmade flowers –

Hope you guys liked what I made..

Have a great day
