We now have a new DT in CraftAdda.. Most of you who have been a part of ICR and those who have been to the ICR Mumbai meets know her already cos she is a very active member and has always inspired some of us to try something or the other.. Paru you also had treated us with those yummy Chilli toast at your place in on of the ICR meet .. Well she had inspired me to do three things -

1) To get my own craft room – I am still in the process of getting one, as all of you know Mumbai and big houses is a tricky combination..

2) To start embossing.. After you gave us demo on how to use embossing powders and heat gun is when I started wet embossing..

3) Recently she sent me tons of her CAS cards and let me tell you I loved each and every one of them.. usually I suck at creating CAS cards and hence I never did imagine that I will give it a try again.. Well after seeing her cards my dad asked me why don’t you give those type of cards a try again cos he also had loved those cards.. I said why not and I sat an entire day and made 9 Cards..

I do :) — A wedding card

Well guys I am back again with a wedding card, which is the biggest symbol of Love according to me.. I just love wedding not because of the music, dancing and food (I love that too by the way ), but because of the Love.. I don’t know if you have noticed but there is so much Love bursting out of people especially on two occasions.. Once you get married and well the other is when there is baby in the house.. As you all know I have recently became an Aunt and hence I am again getting sentimental all over .. Well here we were celebrating new year and it’s Valentine day already.. It seems time flies.. Today’s day calls for a special Love card.. So here is my best attempt till date on CAS(Clean And Simple) Card.. Well this card was again on order and since it was for a guy I had to keep flowers an embellishment to a minimum.. So I had recently made a Valentine day card(which I will share soon I promise:)) and once it was done I ended up with loads of ribbon scraps.. And a card showcased by Dawn using those scraps came to my mind.. And here is what I made of it ..

This card was not on order but a gift to my office colleague on her wedding.. She has been a huge support to me in my new office and we are sort of gossip queens.. Put us in a single room and we can go on for hours .. Well so I couldn’t resist makin a card for her looking at our history together .. I wanted to write a post on Crafting today and wanted to create a ray of positiveness between the negativity going around in the country, but again my mind and heart simply refused to do.. Everyday an anger is building up in me and I dunno when and how its going to come out.. Everyday around me debates are going on as to how these guys should be punished and how the constitution should be changed to incorporate a more aggressive punishment for these Criminals.. I just have one question for all those people, will it change the mentality of people in India?

Will people stop defaming each and every rape victim that “By wearing skimpy clothes you know she was asking for it”.. What I would like instead was for all those Men out there would be to take a pledge – A pledge that I will respect not only the females in my house but the females in entire country because they are also a family to someone else.. I respect many a Men in my life from my Father to my brothers to my cousins and friends.. And this respect is because I admire their intelligence and I truly respect the person they have made of themselves.. If I am asking a similar understanding from all other guys in the country is it too much to ask for?? .. Why can’t I be respected for the my intelligence and my abilities.. Why should that respect be based on the kind of clothes I wear.. If Guys roam around in their shorts does that mean a group of females passing by can grope them and pass lewd comments of them.. Will that be okay??

Today Guys talk about how they are victims of sexual harassment in Corporate Sector.. Do you know that females have been victims of these harassment from the time they were a teenager.. Some even before they became a teenager.. What should we do about it then.. Just take it as a part of Life??

I know one thing for sure I am not going to change for Guys who think they can do it all and get away with it, I can reason with you and explain to you that yes “I am an Equal”.. But if you don’t understand it today then you will have to tomorrow..

Hello peeps I have a news to share.. A happy one.. I have become an Aunt .. and I am so excited with the news.. After 25 years we have a new born in our family and boy am I excited .. The baby and mom are doing well.. And my family is still in a state of happy shock and awe ..

She has been named “Kiara Kothari” by my Brother and Sister in Law .. So we have a junior “KK” in our family ..So now I feel all the more responsible as I am the senior “KK”.. (Khyati Kothari)

So this starts a new lovely chapter in the life of my family especially my Brother and Sister In law.. So here comes much awaited “Congratulations” to them.. I would like to share a card which I have made for her and which forever will be close to my heart.. So here are the images of the card…

This is my first post as a Designer for CraftAdda and my first mixed media tutorial.. So guys I would definitely love to get some feedback from you .. For those who hate a picture heavy post, well this is one of them .. So Beware

I just created a some scrapbook pages recently and was confused as to what to make a cover.. Because I wanted to give it an elegant and vintage look but without using browns or blacks.. Then I went with my favorite color Purple

Introducing CraftAdda

Well as most of my crafter friends do know that I am a part of CraftAdda and have joined in as a Designer.. But for the benefit of those who don’t know about it , let me tell you the story behind it .. As all of my readers know that I am an avid crafter and a software developer by profession.. Most of the crafting supplies I use in my projects is made in US and is very difficult to get in India, so when me and my friends once were discussing my plights on how difficult it is to get stuff in India.. They asked me hey why don’t we give all the Indian crafter’s a platform where they can not only buy Craft and Art Supplies.. And at the same time lets take it a notch above and make a site which has an actual cart system, where people can browse and buy stuff.. And that’s how we started..

To all those of my crafter friend’s I welcome your suggestion and opinions on how to make it better.. Feel free to provide me some constructive feedback .. Also for our existing customer’s thank you for your overwhelming support and orders.. We are very proud of what we have achieved and will go on giving our 100% to CraftAdda.. Well this is again similar to an older card I made for a guy here.. This one was supposed to made fot a girl and so it has a girl holding a guitar.. When I saw this stamp set I hardly had a use for, but I fell in love with the images and just had to have it .. Glad that I bought it -

All the stamps I have used here are from Inkadinkado.. I have used Gold, Bronze and Silver powder for embossing n the font of the card.. The black ink used for stamping is Staz On

The front of the card -

The stamp is embossed using the golden embossing powder.. The sentiment stamped using white embossing powder.. The lavender twine like string is a local find.. Inside of the card was left empty.. Now the envelope of the card -

The flourish stamp is from Inkadinado .. I just love this stamp set.. It has some intricately designed flourishes.. The stamp shaped stamps is from W9

Well as i told you in my earlier post that I had bagged an order to make a few cards.. Here is the look at one of the card.. This one is my personal favorite.. So here are some snapshots of the same -

The front of the card -

I stamped the front using Organic Flourish stamp from Inkadinkado.. The I colored it using gel pens.. The heart stamp is from Micia and then I stamped the sentiment on it.. The sentiment stamp is from W9.. The page was actually grey in color and I distressed it heavily using black soot..

The inside of the card -

The heart in the inside opens to form a string of heats.. This was done simply to provide more space for writing.. On the hearts the distressing is done using Vintage Photo, Antique Linen and Fired Brick.. The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink.. The sentiment is stamped using Fired Brick Ink..

Well I wanted to try something more distressed in my crafting.. And wanted to create an aged look.. So i thought why not try using various shades of brown of Tim Holtz distress inks.. So here is the look at same -

The Tim Holtz ink I have used to stamp the scripting stamp is Antique Linen.. The butterflies are stamped using Vintage Photo.. The plant is stamped using Walnut Stain.. The corners I have distressed using Tea Dye Brown.. The corners I distressed using Walnut Stain.. The sentiment stamp is Paper trey ink.. The ribbons and gems are from my stash

Well it seems a week for bookmarks .. Well yesterday I was just playing around with my Staedtler water color pencils and loved how this image was colored.. I decided to make a bookmark out of it..So here is the image of it -

The image is from precious moments.. I simply downloaded a sketch from internet and printed it… Colored it using my water color pencils. I also did some distressing using Tim Holtz black soot.. The flourish stamp is from Micia and the sentiment stamp is from Papertrey .. Added the ribbons for the same 4 colors that are used for the bulbs.. Loved the overall effect..
